Clune, Deirdre Clune - you’re losing my vote
Another candidate bites the dust…
Down goes Clune.
Her poster protrudes into the sightline
poses a problem for the careful driver
as he turns the wheel of his rusted Saab
cursing the drought that surrounds his ballot box
Miss D, Irish General Election and My Voting Intention
Now is the season of our discontent
made glorious by the travails of Miss D…
Hyperbolic, I feel hyperbolic right now. I’ve heard the radio reports on what’s in the Irish newspapers the day after the High Court judgement.
Headlines are saying the the Irish childcare system is thrown in to disarray: hundreds of children now free to wander off, out of control…
TELL ME : WHY WOULD ANY CHILD WANT TO STAY ‘IN CARE’ IN THIS COUNTRY?
GIVE ME ONE GOOD REASON… PLEASE
I NEED TO FEEL THIS IS A GOOD COUNTRY TO LIVE IN
I NEED TO FEEL IT WAS RIGHT TO COME BACK HERE
AND IT MATTERS TO ME HOW CHILDREN ARE TREATED BY ADULTS, ESPECIALLY BY PUBLIC AUTHORITY ADULTS
I will stop shouting. It’s not good for my health and my own health is my number one priority.
The implications I see…
I have decided I will not vote for any politician who has had any direct influence over the health system and its culture in the last seven years.
I’ve already decided I won’t vote for anyone whose poster distracts me while I drive around the Finger-Post roundabout in Douglas, Cork. That means I won’t be voting for:
Martin, Micheal
Minnihan Senator
Some individual from Sinn Fein whose name hasn’t registered with me
Those ones have threatened my safe-driving most.
ps: Thank goodness the courts have ensured protection of Miss D’s identity. So I know little about what kind of person she is. I only know my perceptions:
what a wonderfully dignified, strong, brave and exemplary person she is… a credit to herself, made a decent person despite the authorities, including that individual social worker and her supervisor and her supervisor’s supervisor and her supervisor’s supervisor’s supervisor ‘Professor’ Drum, appointed by Mary Harney, appointed by Bertie Ahern, appointed by the Irish electorate.
