I missed the Irish Blog Awards 2008 last March. I wasn’t blogging and I wasn’t going out to meet people, so I let it pass me by without paying any attention.
That was a pity because I enjoyed being a judge (in one category) in 2007, and I remember fondly meeting up with Annette Clancy (Interactions), John of Dublin, Claire Wilson(Gingerpixel) and others too. If I’d been out and about this year I’d have noticed the nominees for the Best Irish Business Blog, because I like to follow cutting-edge trends.
My attitude to wine is one of admiration: I marvel at the variety of colour, smell, taste, texture and bottles in which it comes. I’m full of admiration for the makers of wine.
So when Julian got in touch with me about gardening, and I looked up his blog, I felt the universe was drawing us together. If it couldn’t get me to meet him at the Blog Awards, the garden centre would do just as well. There was to be no escaping him.
See what you think of his blog. Isn’t it all you need to develop your serious interest in wine (and your interest in how to author an excellent business blog)?
ps :
The brother and I are planning a week away together - a cookery course somewhere in Europe. So I’m getting warmed up for that by dusting off my discrimating powers in the wine arena.
If you can recommend a cookery course for cooks of middling ability, please do.
Thank you for the kind words: appreciated by a jack of all trades and master of none. If I can send any recommendations for a cookery course your way, I will.

I’m beginning to wonder if you might have met in your place in the English Market. I’ve bought a few bottle there but I’ve not yet been into your place in the Marina. I must rectify that.
Thank you very much for offering to pass on info about a cookery course. It’s going to be fun compiling a list and narrowing it down to one. I better think a bit more about what I’m looking for.

I’m in the Market shop much less often than before, but you never know! I don’t think anyone volunteered a cookery course, but you’re right: the research is nearly as much fun as the doing.

Would I find you in the Marina? I fancy dropping in there sometime soon. Reading your blog is tickling the tastebuds.
