Today is the final part of the Ryder Cup.  I didn’t anticipate how keen I’d get on this event - how admiring I’d become of the concept, the ethos, the work ethic that’s driven the whole show.

From the comfort of my sofa at home in Glanmire, I got tempted into recording an audio commentary.  I wanted to capture some of my excitement - so that during the winter when the Ryder Cup was a memory, it would be possible to listen back.

I’ve admired commentators: John Arlott in Cricket, Michael O’Heir on GAA - these are voices that have enriched my life.  I dedicate this collection to them all.
